The Festival "The White Mushroom"

In the midst of mushroom high season the town of Lodeynoye Polye calls guests to the festival "The White Mushroom (The Cep)" since the region is famous for its forest gifts.

The festival guests may visit an exhibition of culinary products "The Mushroom Fantasy", enjoy mushroom dishes, learn new recipes for cooking mushrooms.

Citizens and visitors will be entertained by music ensembles and dance groups. Theatrical performances, master classes on pottery-making, exhibition-sales, the contests "The best mushroom picker", "The biggest mushroom", "The biggest harvest", "The merry family" will be held.

At the fair fresh ceps, chanterelles, dried mushrooms and berries, souvenirs are sold.

At the same day the Day of the town is celebrated. The town of Lodeynoye Polye is often called the birthplace of the Baltic Fleet. Here in 1702, on the order of Peter the Great, Olonetsk (later on – Lodeynopolsk) shipyard was founded, from its building ways the first ship of the Baltic Navy – the frigate "The Standard" – was officially launched into waters.
